‘Making Waves’ Holiday Club 2011
These past two weeks the pirate ship the ‘Naughty Nick’ has been moored at Bozeat and Wollaston. You didn’t know the tide came this far in shore did you? The pirate Jack, captain of the ‘Naughty Nick’, and two of his crew have been ashore recruiting new members. At a guess I would say that they could have had approximately 65 willing volunteers at Bozeat and 92 at Wollaston. What Cap’n Jack didn’t reckon on was finding the greatest treasure of all time, the precious pearl of great price, Jesus.
The real joy of the holiday clubs is the look of expectation and pleasure on the children’s faces as they arrive; the way they willingly participate and the happy faces as they leave, eager to return the next day. The privilege is the trust their parents place in us to look after their children and their generosity both verbally and financially at the end.
Also to have young people return as helpers and actively participate as puppeteers and acting in the dramas, when last year they attended as children is particularly encouraging- new leaders and ‘front team’ in the making.
The enthusiasm and commitment of the volunteer leaders/ helpers says a lot about the co-operation between the churches of Bozeat and Wollaston. What better example of Christian unity. A very big thank you to them all and God bless you.
Thank you Jesus for the privilege of serving you in this way and for your many blessings upon us all.
